On February 27th, 2012, Monday 6:30 pm there will be a benefit event for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at Balaton Restaurant. Please, call in to make a donation, and/or to get your $20 ticket for the evening. Balaton will provide the ambiance, food-sampling and refreshments.
If you have not realized we began merchandising in 2008 CD-s and DVD-s first. In 2010 we added unique food and gift items, and continually adding to the list. Take some with you!
Right in our restaurant we are now selling Hungarian, Central European curiosities. It has been on our agenda since we reopened our Shaker Square location in 1998. Times did not always favor such endeavor, but our patrons always inquired.
We have been selling home-made Paprikash Bacon.

You may be familiar with this traditional smoke-cured, then cooked with garlic and paprika, ready to serve bacon. Known in Hungary also as Abált-Szalonna. This divine old world bacon is like medicine. Do not indulge, but enjoy!
Paprikash and Hungarian Hard szalami has been a pleaser through the years.
These szalamis are variations and creations of a higher need for complex taste experience. Paprika is the common tie in these brands. Made and cured differently they are cold-platter items with veggie, and bread or toast, and spicy feta-cheese.
Sweets and Treats are something you would not show up without at a family visitation.
We have a small variety that will turn the most mischievous nephew respecting you as a friend. So, treat the kids right!
